Another snowy photo session…

Yesterday, I met with one of my Spring 2010 brides Heather, and her mom Pat, to review some of the details of Heather & Alex’s upcoming wedding in May. We reminisced a little about the snowy e-session I shot for Heather & Alex last January when they got engaged and it made me think of sharing some of their images on my blog. Heather’s mom told me she thought for sure I would cancel the shoot because of the snow, but I loved it! We had such fun that day….snowball fights….making angels in the snow…catching snowflakes on your tongue…well that was them not ME!

Working with such a super relaxed, fun loving couple, made my job really easy. I am very much looking forward to photographing their wedding in May at the University of Toronto Hart House.

Winter Weddings….a romantic winter wonderland!

blog-8
Reflecting back on a very busy 2009, I wanted to share a couple of beautiful winter weddings I had the pleasure of photographing. The first was Courtney & Mark’s wedding on January 31st. It was a cold, snowy day but that didn’t stop Courtney & Mark along with their brave bridal party from embracing the magic of the season.

Naughty or Nice….

Little Morgan is sugar and spice and everything nice….nothing naughty about her! It was wonderful to see the sparkle in her eyes as she played with the toys that sing songs and giggled as puppies popped out of christmas boxes. She was hilarious to watch when her mumma changed her into her chocolate brown tutu and shiny pink shoes as she danced around and entertained us both. Then of course, you have to let babies play for a bit in their diaper….my favourite part!

Fall Colours + Three Cute Little Boys + Matching Argyle Sweaters = Super Cute!!

This is definitely a case of the Shoe Makers Kids without any Shoes…..this past Sunday I finally made the time to do a family portrait session for my daughter, son-in-law and my 3 grandsons. Part of the problem is co-ordinating everyone’s busy schedules but also photographing your own family presents its own set of challenges. I’m sure most photographers would agree.

In any event….after much begging, pleading, cajoling and promising all kinds of treats, we did manage to get a few keepers!

Megan & Dave’s Wedding

Three weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Megan & Dave’s wedding at Deer Creek Golf & Country Club in Ajax. We had some ‘iffy’ weather that week leading up to the wedding, but on their big day, the sun shone, there were huge puffy clouds and glorious blue skies!!! Which is a good thing, since they had their hearts set on an outdoor ceremony.

The day was perfect, the bride and her bridesmaids were gorgeous (the 3 bridesmaids were Megan’s sisters)….the groom dashing and his groomsmen equally as handsome! Not to mention the cutest little flowergirls and ringbearer who were the groom’s nieces and nephew.

Congrats Megan & Dave…all the best to you both!!!

Bachelorette Party

Recently, I was commissioned by one of my former (and favourite) brides….Amanda Conkie Ottaway to photograph a Bachelorette Party for her friend Katherin who is getting married in October. I was advised the party would have a theme. The ‘LITTLE BLACK DRESS’ theme. The ladies had dinner reservations at a restaurant in the Distillery District and they wanted a fun, funky, urban look to the shoot. I was told the bride is also a big fan of black & white photography, so many of the shots worked perfectly. Eleven stunning gals, in one of Toronto’s funkiest upbeat locations on an absolutely beautiful evening….we had a blast!
Thank you ladies….you were all very good sports! And congratulations Katherin…you will make a stunning bride!!!!

Morgan Grace

One of the things I love most about being a ‘family’ photographer is watching the babies grow and documenting the milestones in their lives. I photographed Morgan’s parents Wedding Reception and then their “Bellies Session” before Morgan was born. I first photographed Morgan when she was only a few days old, then again when she was 3 months old, then 6 months old and now she is almost 11 months old. And of course we will be doing another session for her lst birthday in September. By that time she will probably be running all over the place. When she was born her great grandmother sent a kilt from Scotland…now that she is big enough to wear it, her mommy wanted to have a portrait done. A Highland Dancer in training.

One more week for Megan & Dave

August 7th is the day Megan & Dave have spent the better part of the last year planning for.  The dress, the venue, the flowers, the cake and of course the photographer to capture it all.  I am really excited to be part of this celebration and wanted to share some shots from their recent engagement session.  If that day was any indication of how their wedding day will be, I am positive it will be filled with love and lots of  laughter!

Such a fun loving couple….they totally embraced the “pretend I’m not here”….

Here are a few of my favs!

Courtney & Mark Engagement Session

January 31st is coming very quickly for Courtney & Mark. That’s the day they will say their “I DO’s” at The Royal Ashburn Golf & Country Club. The weather didn’t co-operate for their planned outdoor in the snow engagement shoot so we ended up doing an ‘in studio’ session and then a couple of quick shots outdoors before they froze.
I am 100% positive that Courtney will be a stunning bride and Mark a very handsome groom! Can’t wait to photograph your big day!

OH BABY!!

Laura and Greg patiently await the arrival of their baby girl in January!
As a shower gift from their family, they received a Gift Certificate for either a ‘Bellies’ portrait session or ‘Newborn’ portrait session and they chose ‘Bellies’.
I’m so glad they did. It was an awesome session and my pleasure to capture this very special time for them.
Such a loving couple with an incredible connection!
Thank you for allowing me to be part of this experience and I can’t wait to photograph your little angel when she is born!
Best wishes!
